LEADERSHIP

Since 2018 Caroil has being through a major transformation in the organization by identifying and recruiting experienced professionals to build new Management and Executive Team of the Company.

The leadership of Caroil is formed by a diverse and experienced group of Oil & Gas Professionals, with decades of international and local experience in the Drilling Industry.

Having being previously with major International companies such as Transocean, Schlumberger, BP, Weatherford, Nabors and Seadrill our Management is dedicated to achieve Caroil’s ultimate goal to become the preferred driller of choice.

Mathieu thabault
CHAIRMAN

A graduate of ENSAM and ENSPM, Mathieu Thabault began his career in 2005 in the Economics and Strategy department at Total's headquarters.

In 2007, he joined the Perenco Group, where he held various positions: Project Engineer in France, Deputy Project Manager in Gabon, Project Manager in Cameroon, Production Manager in Congo, and Operations Manager at Perenco Trinidad and Tobago.

In 2018, he joined the Maurel & Prom Group as Deputy General Manager and became General Manager of M&P Gabon in January 2021.

As of September 2024, Mathieu Thabault has been appointed Group Operations Director of Maurel & Prom and Chairman of Caroil, the Group's drilling subsidiary.
